AEROSMITH Bassist Expected At Connecticut Show
November 29, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: AEROSMITH's got a show practically in their own backyard tonight (Wednesday, November 29),and they're expecting a special guest — bass player Tom Hamilton. The band is playing the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut, which isn't far from their home base in Boston, and that's where Hamilton has been recovering from throat cancer and the treatments for the disease, including radiation therapy. Hamilton couldn't do the tour, but he did show up at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts, back in September to play "Sweet Emotion". Barring any last-minute developments, Hamilton should be on stage at some point to shoot his part for the band's NASCAR footage, according to a message on the AeroforceOne.com website. There's no word on whether Hamilton will stick around for more songs.
While Hamilton's been home, longtime AEROSMITH friend David Hull has held down the bass position.
The group shot interview footage, promos, and live versions of their song "Back In The Saddle" at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas earlier this month. The material will be used next year on ESPN and ABC to promote the racing league.
At that gig, lead guitarist Joe Perry suffered a concussion when he was hit in the head by a 2,000-pound camera boom, though he was able to finish the show.
